Compact powder is an absolute makeup staple for me! Even on those days when I don’t feel like putting makeup on, I definitely put my compact powder and a bit of kajal ! So compact is one thing I never skip practically. For years I have been using compacts from Maybelline and Lakme. But recently I got my hands on the L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique Compact Powder.

My thoughts on the L’oreal Paris Mat Magique Compact Powder:
The L’oreal Paris Mat Magique Compact Powder comes in a very cute case with a metallic pink casing on it. I find the packaging really pretty! When you open the compact there are two compartments- the top compartment contains the compact powder and the lower one contains a mirror and sponge. Quite frankly, I did not find the packaging convenient because the mirror is in a separate compartment than the powder itself. So it becomes quite a hassle to look into the mirror and apply as you constantly need to switch the compartments!
This compact is available in 5 shades- N1, G1, G2, N6, G7. I have the shade G1 Vanilla Ivory. I have a fair skin tone with yellow undertones. This shade perfectly matches my skin tone and I am glad to have found a perfect match for me! I think the shade range is good enough and there is a shade for everyone. Coming to the texture, the powder is finely milled and has a soft texture to it. For the application, I don’t use the sponge but a powder brush instead.
Once applied it does mattify my oily skin and gives an airbrush effect. It does not settle into fine lines and keeps my skin shine-free for about 4 to 5 hours. So the 12H shine free claim is not true for me. This compact powder is good for setting your foundation or BB-cream. It also comes with SPF 34 PA+++ making it ideal for summers!
Overall I like the smooth finish it gives to my skin. So if you are looking for an affordable yet quality compact powder I would recommend giving this a try. Hope the review was helpful!
See you all in my next post! Tada!
